Punjab govt to provide new cars to MLAs

Chandigarh, Sep 6 (UNI) The Punjab government has placed an order for brand new cars for the elected representatives of the people.

This information was given by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal while replying to a supplementary by Makhan Singh (Congress) during Question Hour in the Assembly here yesterday.

The purchase order was delayed for some time as some of the MLAs wanted AC fitted cars while others talked of power steering wheels.

''Your cars will have both the features,'' Mr Badal said when Mr Singh told him that the vehicles provided by the government to the MLAs needed to be replaced.
