Police seize documents from blast accused's house in Bhuj

Ahmedabad, Sep 6 (UNI) Police today raided the house of Abbas Umar Sameja, who was arrested from Bhuj in connection with the Ahmedabad serial bomb blasts case, and seized some incriminating documents including a letterpad of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), ration and election cards.

The letterpad has guidelines on how to expand the SIMI's 'jehadi' activities and raise funds for the cause and so on.

Police also searched houses of Maulana Vazirali Ismael, Suleman Ali Sumara and Amad Jusab Sama, all reported to be connected with the of SIMI activities.

Police have continued their investigations in Bhuj town of Kutch.

Naved Kadri, Javed Sheikh and Abbas Samje were arrested from Bhuj in Kutch on Thursday in the Civil Hospital blasts case.

According to police, the trio were involved in various stages of planning and conspiracy of the blasts. Abbas, an active SIMI member since 2001, had sold a house in Bhuj in 2007 to raise money for the blasts. He was allegedly in touch with SIMI chieftain Safdar Nagori and Zahid Shiekh, another arrested blast accused.

Kadri, who recruited youngsters for the SIMI, took an active part in the blasts conspiracy and had attended the training camp at Ernakumalm in Kerala.
