Washington, Sep 6 (UNI) U S Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama has accused Pakistan of using the military aid that it had received from the United States for "preparing for a war against India." In an interview with Fox news Channel, he said that the aid was given to Pakistan "without having enough strings attached." It was actually meant to fight Taliban, Al Qaida and other terrorist groups active on the Pakistan Afghan border.
He made this brief reference to Pakistan in an interview with the Fox news Channel but the issue has earlier been highlighted in an official U S government report.
Senator Obama appreciated the importance of Pakistan in the fight against terrorism and said if he was elected in the November election; his administration would provide military support to Pakistan targeted at terrorists and help build democracy there.
He regretted that the Bush Administration wasted 10 billion dollars on former President Pervez Musharraf "without holding him accountable for knocking out those safe havens." In reply to a question, the Democratic leader said. "if we have Bin laden in our site, we will target him and knock him out." UNI XC NC DS1200
