Katihar, Sep 6 (UNI) The NCP today alleged that the Nitish Kumar government has failed to distribute the relief materials and foodgrains, provided by the Centre and other states, among the Bihar flood victims.

NCP national general secretary Tariq Anwar told newspersons here that despite the passage of 20 days, the situation in the flood-affected areas was pathetic, as the victims were not finding any relief from the government.

''The Centre has released 1.25 lakh Metric Tonnes of foodgrains for the flood victims, but the state government did not take suitable steps to procure it from the respective agencies,'' Mr Anwar said, adding it was an indication of callous attitude of the state government towards victims' condition.

He said the devastating flood in North Bihar was not at all a natural calamity, but was the result of human negligence and the state government could not shirk its responsibilities in this regard.

The NCP would set up more than 200 medical camps in flood-hit areas for treatment of the flood victims, he added.
