New Zealand Governor General to visit India from Monday
New Delhi, Sep 6 (UNI) New Zealand Governor General, Anand Satyanand, the first person of Indian heritage to have risen to the post in that country, will pay a State visit to India from September 8 to 14.
He will meet President Pratibha Patil, Vice President Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Leader of Opposition L K Advani.
He will also visit Mumbai and Hyderabad.
The visit, the first visit by a Governor General of New Zealand to India, is significant as New Zealand was one of the countries which had initial reservations about India being given a waiver at the Nuclear Suppliers Group.
