Chennai, Sep 6 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today conveyed his best wishes to the state police on the occasion of its 150th anniversary.
In a message, the Chief Minister said he was happy that the Tamil Nadu Police, which was known for its tradition and historical service, is entering the 150th year.
The state police had secured a unique place by being friendly with those who abide by the law, while dealing with an iron hand those who violated the law, he said.
Mr Karunanidhi said the police should maintain peace and law and order and help the state government, which was marching towards the top place in the industrial revolution.
While being supportive to the government and friendly to the people, the police should discharge their duties with ''Duty, Dignity and Discipline,'' like late leader Anna had once said and won many more laurels, Mr Karunanidhi said.
