Erase bad impression: CJ to medical practitioners
Chennai, Sep 6: Chief Justice of Madras High Court A K Ganguly appealed to medical practitioners to erase the impression that doctors had given up ethics and are interested only in monetary gains.
Addressing the first international pre-conference workshop on Obstetric Anaesthesia, here on Friday, Sep 5 Chief Justice Ganguly said that unlike lawyers, doctors had a personal and unique relationship with their clients. Very few realised that there was a fine line between misjudgement and gross negligence. Any mistake on the part of doctors would erase the noble deeds done by them.
He cautioned medical practitioners on the Consumer Protection Act, which had good and bad effect. Around 28 international and 40 national faculties and 1,000 delegates are taking part in the conference on Obstetric Anaesthesia to be held on Saturday, and Sunday. To mark the occasion, Chief Justice Ganguly released a souvenir and Association of Obstetric Anaesthesiologists newsletter. Chennai City Region Postmaster General M S Ramanujan released a special postal cover. UNI
