Chennai, Sep 6 (UNI) Riding on medium pacer Ashwin Yadav's hat-trick, Hyderabad garnered four points in Zone C trouncing Assam by 196 runs as the latter collapsed 190 chasing a target of 388 in 90 overs in the All India Buci Babu Cricket Tournament here today.
Assam struggled losing wickets against Ashwin who bagged 4-27, including the rare hat-trick, the second in the tournament so far this year and off-spinner Vishal Sharma (4-84) chasing Hyderabad's 388 for 6.
Ashwin performed the hat-trick dismissing Kunal Saikha (26, 24 balls, four fours), Pankaj (0) and Dheeraj Gosami(0) in the 53rd over of Assam's innings, and his own ninth over.
Amit Sinha with 53 off 132 balls with three fours top scored for Assam while R R Parida (42 off 82 balls, three fours, one six) was the other main scorer.
Assam, however, suffered their second successive defeat in the league phase. They are yet to open their points tally and are out of contention for a quarterfinal berth.
