Hyderabad, Sep 6 (UNI) Society for Social Awareness President G Harikishan Goud today urged the Andhra Pradesh Government to stop all facilities extended to Telugu actor-politician Chiranjeevi's Blood Bank, alleging that it had been selling thousands of blood bags and was not serving the poor.
Addressing a press conference here, he alleged that though the blood bank, launched by the actor-politician, was receiving free blood from donors and free materials from government, it had been selling thousands of blood bags.
Terming as ''totally false'' the Chiranjeevi Trust's claim that they were contributing their own funds for doing expensive screening tests and providing empty blood bags, Mr Goud claimed that the blood bank had received screening test kits and empty blood bags from the government and cash in lakhs from the state government through State AIDS Control Society.
He pointed out that a criminal case was registered against the Blood Bank by one Damodar in Balanagar police station here for allegedly supplying HIV Positive blood in October 2007.
