Thackeray bats for Nano at Singur
Mumbai, Sep 5 (UNI) Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray today said the removal of Tata Motors' Nano car project from Singur will adversely affect the country as well as West Bengal.
In an editorial in the party's mouthpiece 'Saamna' titled 'Nano in unfortunate incidents', Mr Thackeray said if the project was shifted from West Bengal, there would not be any future investment in that state and the people will suffer.
He held the Leftist government in that state as well as the Centre responsible for allowing the issue to reach such a stage.
Mr Thackeray said already Rs 1,500 crore had been spent for the project and it would not feasible to remove it.
The Sena chief had earlier congratulated the Tatas for producing a car at Rs one lakh.
