Hyderabad, Sept 5 (UNI) A high-level delegation from the Republic of Tanzania, led by Minister for Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development today met Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy at his Assembly office.
The delegation is here to study in detail the ''Bhu Bharathi'' programme that has been taken up by the state.
The Tanzanian minister Salome Thaddaus Sijaona told the Chief Minister that the government of Tanzania had taken up a similar scheme and it was in the process of being surveyed and studied.
In fact, they wanted to study the programme and replicate the same in Tanzania.
Mrs Salome Thaddaus Sijaona told the Chief Minister that Tanzania houses lot of land and has taken up a programme to improve management of land-records through scanning, computerisation and development of land-information system.
The delegation which had a detailed discussion with the minister for Revenue, Dharmana Prasada Rao and the Bhu Bharathi officials is visiting the Nizamabad district, where it is being implemented as a pilot programme.
The Chief Minister said the ''Bhu Bharathi'' programme will be stepped up in the state and the aim of his government was to cover the entire state at the earliest.
