Mumbai, Sep 5 (UNI) Mumbaikars got some respite from the dry spell of the past few days following showers in the metropolis today.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the city is likely to receive rain or thundershowers in the next 24 hours, while the maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 32 degrees centigrade and 25 degrees centigrade respectively.

However, the sudden showers did not disrupt the transport modes with the rail and road traffic remaining largely unaffected.

Suburban rail services were running smoothly and road traffic was largely unaffected with no waterlogging on any of the arterial routes in the city.

The meteorological department recorded 0.1 mm of rainfall in the suburban Santacruz station since 0830 hrs.
