Kakinada, Sept 5 (UNI) The East Godavari Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi today asked the District Medical and Health officer to issue show cause notices to doctors of four Primary Health Centres(PHC): Gollapalem, Samalkot, Seethanagaram and Mangampadu for being negligent in fulfilling the targets for promoting hospital deliveries.
Addressing the doctors, medical officers and supervisors during the monthly review of activities of the medical and health department here, the Collector warned that stringent measures would be initiated against those who failed to progess to achieve the targets by next review-meeting.
The Collector suspended two hostel wardens and served show cause notices to five others for dereliction of duties to set right the functioning of hostels in the district.
He told newspersons, surprise inspection at welfare hostels in Jagannadhapuram area revealed that hostels staff were not performing duties properly.
Based on the inspection report submitted by the RDO, he said, hostel wardens of Social Welfare Girls' hostels at Jagannadhapuram and Kapileswerapuram were suspended.Six educational volunteers were also removed for dereliction of duties, he said.
Complaint boxes were being put up at all the hostels so that the students are able to voice their grievances in writing and seek immediate remedial measures, he added.
