Nagpur, Sep 5 (UNI) President Pratibha Devisingh Patil will be on a two-day visit to Vidarbha region of Maharashtra from tomorrow.
Ms Patil would arrive here from New Delhi by special aircraft tomorrow morning, according to an official press release. She would then proceed by helicopter to Achalpur in adjoining Amravati district where she is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of a spinning mill in the afternoon.
The President would proceed to Amravati and camp there for the night. On Sunday, Ms Patil would flag off the inaugural run of the new Amravati-Mumbai train and also lay the foundation stone of the new building of Amravati railway station.
Ms Patil would then proceed to Nagpur by helicopter and then return to New Delhi by special aircraft the same evening.
Maharashtra Governor S C Jamir and Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh will accompany the President during her visit, the release added.
This will be Ms Patil's second visit to Amravati as President.
Her earlier visit was in October last year.
