New Delhi, Sep 5 (UNI) For several years , she has enthralled viewers with the ''ideal bahu'' act in the long running soap 'Kasauti Zindagi Kay' but now she will make them hate her through her negative shade.
Popular television actor Shweta Tiwari, popularly known as ''Prerna'' the sweet daughter-in-law of the Basu family in the serial 'Kasauti Zindagi Kay', is all set to assay her first negative role on the small screen in 'Ajeeb', a new show being aired on the 9X channel from August 27.
A mysterious love story set in a hospital where something strange is going on, 'Ajeeb' premiered on 9X channel on Wednesday at 2130 hrs.
To be aired on the channel every Wednesday and Thursday at 2130 hrs, 'Ajeeb' is a unique story of a warm-hearted young woman, Anjali, who aspires to be a doctor at a prestigious hospital, SBMI.
However, a rejection from the hospital shatters her dreams and she decided to go back home to her small town. But as fate rules, Anjali lands up in the same hospital to treat her friend, who goes into coma in due course of her treatment for a simple ailment.
Now, Anjali witnesses the actual going-on at her erstwhile dream destination. The show, which features some of the biggest stars like Tanaaz and Bakhtiyar Irani, and Shweta Tiwari, along with fresh new faces, has Shweta play a young Bollywood actress Sapna Basu, who was brought into the hospital after her failed attempt to suicide.
Channel sources said for the first time in her career, the nation's favourite bahu would be seen in a negative character.
Shweta's role as the main protagonist, Prerna, made her a household name across the country. As Prerna, whose life is shown torn between two lead men in the show due to destiny's cruel intervention, she became an icon of women across the country.
Channel sources said 'Ajeeb' would also have actors Tanaaz and Bakhtiyar Irani portray roles they have never played before.
