Panaji, Sep 5 (UNI) The Indian Naval Air Squadron (339), based at 'INS Hansa' at Dabolim in Goa, was adjudged the best for the year 2007-08.
It was also awarded the CNS flight safety trophy in the training category.
The rolling trophies were presented to the different wings of the Indian Navy at the Flight Safety annual seminar organised by the Goa Naval Area Headquarters here under the aegis of the Westren Naval Command yesterday.
The trophies were presented by Vice-Admiral J S Bedi, FOC-in-C, Westren Naval Command, according to an official release here today.
The Indian Naval Air Squadron (315) also based at 'INS Hansa' and the Kamov flight of 'INS Tabar' secured the CNS Flight Safety trophies in the frontline category and the ship-based flight category respectively.
The seminar was attended by representatives of the Naval Headquarters, besides the three commands of the Indian Navy in addition to the Andaman&Nicobar Joint Command, Army, Air Force and Coast Guard and the Hindustan Aeronautical Limited.
The annual event provides a platform to the stakeholders, including the industry, for exchanging information on issues related to flight safety, besides sensitising the personnel on the significance of flight maintaiance.
