Kolkata, Sep 5 (UNI) India will be the third-largest tourism market in the world by 2013 with the domestic hospitality sector likely to see investments over USD 11 billion in the next two years.

Quoting a World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) report, Glion and Les Roches Regional Admission Director Pimo Mazurczak said the Indian hospitality sector was expected to grow to USD 275 billion in the next ten years, adding 40 international hotel brands were poised to make their entry in the country in the next few years.

Mr Mazurczak gave this information while addressing a press conference here on Wednesday to announce his institute's foray into the hotel management and hospitality training sector in India.

''The Les Roches International School of Hotel Management and Glion Institute of Higher Education, two of the world's top hospitality and hotel management schools based in Switzerland, have offered the students in the city to be a part of the rapidly growing USD four trillion global travel and hospitality sector,'' he said.

''The traditional Indian view of the hospitality sector has undergone a huge change and graduates from our school are high in demand in the travel, hotel, restaurant, cruise-ship sectors and even large corporate houses. We have found that Indian students educated at Les Roches and Glion find excellent career opportunities in India as well as Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America,'' Mr Mazurczak claimed.

Over the last four years, more than 150 Indian students have pursued international hospitality management education at Les Roches and Glion.
