EPV Solar proposes 420 MW facility in India

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 5 (UNI) The US-based EPV Solar, an amorphous silicon thin-film photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturer, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NeST Hi-Tek Park Pvt Ltd to build a manufacturing facility of up to 420 MW capacity in Kochi.

The MoU was signed by Dr Robert Bryan, EPV Solar's Chief Operating Officer and EPV Solar India Managing Director and Mr N Jehangir, NeST Hi-Tek Park Managing Director in the presence of Kerala Industries Minister Elamaram Kareem.

The new facility is designed to have a potential total annual capacity of up to 420 MW. It would employ over 4,000 workers at the plant when fully completed.

EPV Solar India, a wholly-owned indirect subsidiary of EPV SOLAR, Inc, will serve as the company's regional headquarters for Asia.

The proposed manufacturing facility would be located within one of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) being co-developed by NeST Hi-tek Park Pvt Ltd under an agreement with Kerala Infrastructure Authority (KINFRA).
