Cong moves Chhattisgarh HC
Raipur, Sep 5 (UNI) The Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee has moved the High Court against the Lok Ayog giving a clean chit to Chief Minister Raman Singh, the Public Works Minister, a former chief secretary and several other officials on a complaint by the main opposition Congress.
Congress state President Dhanendra Sahu and Executive President Satyanarayan Sharma said at a press conference here today that Congress state Secretary and spokesman Rajesh Bissa submitted an appeal yesterday.
The Congress had complained that Dr Singh, Public Works Minister Rajesh Munat, ex-chief secretary Shivraj Singh and his successor P Joy Ommen bypassed rules while appointing a consultant.
The Congress leaders alleged that wrong information was provided to the Commission by the regime which submitted lack of awareness of the rules as this was the ''first'' such appointment in Chhattisgarh. While presenting evidence obtained under the Right to Information Act, the leader duo claimed that such appointments were being made since the erstwhile Congress tenure and tenders were also issued.
They demanded the Chief Minister's resignation on moral grounds.
