Two IEDs, ammunition recovered in Jammu
Jammu, Sep 4 (UNI) A major tragedy was averted when the security forces recovered two Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) and some assorted material in different districts of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources here today said.
''Based on tip off, security forces detected an IED fitted in a pipe on the side of a Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at Sukhetar near Jhajjar Kolti, some 35-kms from here,'' sources told UNI.
Meanwhile another IED was located by some passers by at Pundda on Udhianpur-Bharat Road, which was fitted in a telephone pipe.
Both the IEDs were diffused safely by the army and major tragedy was averted in both the districts, they said.
However, security forces on receiving information about the presence of some suspects launched a search operation in Manjakote area of Rajouri district, official sources here said.
''During searches some assorted like material including 123 AK rounds and 3 AK magazines were recovered from Bari Behak Forest area in Sector Shahdara Sharief,'' police sources added.
