Nitish appeals to flood victims to shift to safer places
Patna, Sep 4 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today appealed to all flood victims in North Bihar to shift to safer places on their own or by utilising the mode of transportation being provided by the state government or other agencies engaged in mega relief and rehabilitation operation.
In his message broadcast over the Patna All India Radio, Mr Kumar said the state government was serious enough to evacuate each and every marooned person in the flood-affected areas as soon as possible.
Mr Kumar said that altogether 256 relief centres were working round the clock to provide food and other essentials to the flood victims. ''I appeal to all victims who are still hesitating to shift to the safer places to respond to my request by utilising the facilities offered by the state government and other agencies,'' he said.
He assured that all help and assistance would be provided to the flood victims in relief centres and there should not be any suspicion over the fact from any quarter. ''The sooner the flood victims respond to my appeal, the better would be for their lives and properties,'' he added.
