Key cotton rise on heavy spinners demand
Mumbai, Sep 4 (UNI) Key cotton prices, particularly short staple varieties, today rallied by Rs 500 per candy (335.62 kg) on sustained heavy spinners and exporters demand in the face of lesser stock supplies from Gujarat and some northern regions, traders of Cotton Association of India (CAI) said.
There was lesser rainfall at the producing centres, which reflected downward production for the current season. Local demand improved about 25,000 bales in select varieties, a leading dealer added.
