New Delhi, Sept 4 (UNI) The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has decided to form a new set-up to run the Hockey India affairs and by the end of this year will hold elections which will subside the ad-hoc committee currently looking after the game in the country.
The ad-hoc committee, which took over from the KPS Gill-led Indian Hockey Federation (IHF), has been taking care of the game since April this year.
''By the end of this year, we will have elections as ad-hoc committee can not run game forever,'' Indian Olympic Association (IOA) secretary general Randhir Singh said today.
Meanwhile, it will not an easy task for the IOA to set up the body as former IHF president KPS Gill has also filed a case against governing body in Delhi High Court.
''We will soon have a meeting with all the state associations where all the points will be discussed as we do not want to get into any controversy.
''We hope to finalise everything at the earliest so that the elected body can take charge with everything settled around it,'' Randhir added.
The IHF was recently rechristened as Hockey India which will have both men's and women's federations under it.
