Mumbai, Sep 4 (UNI) Vedanta Group's 'Anil Agarwal Foundation' and 'Sterlite Industries (India) Ltd' today announced a relief package for the flood affected people of Bihar.
The package comprises 20 kitchen items (primarily utensils), blankets, clothes, bedsheets, towels, buckets with mugs, foodgrains and pulses besides gur, candle, matchbox.
The Anil Agarwal Foundation and Sterlite Industries (India) Ltd have tied up with the Indian Red Cross Society of Bihar for distribution of the basic amenities, a spokesperson of both the groups told UNI.
To provide shelter to about 10,000 homeless families, both the groups are also providing 100 tonnes of tarpaulin sheets, entailing an expenditure of two crore, to provide immediate shelter.
The entire operation would be undertaken by the Indian Red Cross Society of Bihar, Patna, in close coordination with Government of Bihar and a Committee constituted by Vedanta Group.
