Sayyad Abbas (38) was found lying unconscious on his bed, along with his wife Neelam and two-and-a-half-year old daughter Janam, in his first floor residence under New Friend's Colony police station area after the door was broke opened, said the police.
The door was broken, when Sayyad's driver Santosh called the police after his several calls on his mobile and knocks on the door went unanswered.
While his wife and daughter had died by then, Sayyad was taken to the AIIMS with his wrist slashed.
His condition remained critical, said the doctors.
Aligarh resident Sayyad had married Neelam, a resident of Ghaziabad, three years ago and the couple lived at the present address in a rented house for the past nearly ten months.
Police said initial investigations suggested he first garrotted his wife and daughter before attempting suicide.
Some sleeping pills and three suicide notes have been recovered from the bedroom, where the trio were found lying.
In his letter, Sayyad asked his business partner Anupam to apologise on his behalf to those he owed money.
Sayyad had an office in Noida's Sector 18.
In the second letter, addressed to the police, Sayyad blamed two of his 'friends' -- Rajesh and Sanjeev -- for threatening his family after he expressed his inability to pay back their loan amount.
The third letter, which his wife Neelam had written, talked about her body being handed over to Akbar bhai (brother), while expressing her wish that her funeral be carried out as per the Muslim rites.
Sayyad had amassed huge debt and even his house rent cheque of Rs 65,000 given to his landlord Ravi Aggarwal, who stays on ground floor, had bounced twice.
