New Delhi, Sep 4 (UNI) The BJP leadership today decided to contest all the 14 seats in Jharkhand by itself in the coming Lok Sabha polls considering the surging popular wave for the party in the light of a tug of war witnessed among the ruling UPA parties in the state.
The BJP's Core Committee, which took stock of the latest political situation from Jharkhand leadership, noted with satisfaction that the state's prospects were totally favourable, especially after the latest dramatic developments resulting in the replacement of Independent-led Madhu Koda government by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader Shibu Soren.
The government has become unpopular and the state BJP was of the opinion that the party should go alone in view of the ground level situation. The leadership concurred with the views and gave the party's nod for the Jharkhand BJP proposal, a top party leader who attended the meeting, said.
Earlier in the day, the Core Group accepted the Asom Gana Parishad's proposal to contest the elections under the NDA banner and do nothing to disturb the anti-Congress votes in the state, senior party leader and BJP Election Management Panel in charge M Venkaiah Naidu said.
