All India Socialist Front plans annual convention on Oct 11

Jalandhar Sept 4 (UNI) All India Socialist Front would hold its annual convention here on October 11-12 to coincide with the Birth anniversary of Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan and the death anniversary of Ram Manohar Lohia, both legendary socialist leaders.

The main theme of the conference would be to consolidate progressive, secular and socialist forces in India and retired Chief Justice Rajinder Sachhar, Narmada Bachao Andolan leader, Medha Patekar and other prominent leaders would grace the occasion, Balwant Singh Khera, President of Malta Boat Tragedy Probe Mission stated here today.

Kesar Singh, President of the Front Punjab said that a 51-member Reception Committee has been constituted comprising representatives of Janata Dal(S), Rashtriya Janata Dal, Samajwadi Socialist Party, Socialist Republican Party and Jan Morcha among others.
