Power Minister hands over Rs 33.5 crore cheque to PM's Relief Fund
New Delhi, Sep 3 (UNI) Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde handed over a cheque of Rs 33.5 crore to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here today towards the PM's Relief Fund for the flood affected people of Bihar.
The cheque was presented in the presence of Secretary (Power) and the CMDs of the Central Public Sector Undertakings, under the administrative control of the Ministry of Power.
This contribution amount was raised by nine PSUs with highest contribution coming from National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Rs 10 crore followed by Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCI) Rs seven crore, Rs five crore from Power Finance Corporation (PFC), Rs 2.5 crore each came from National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) and Rural Electrification Power Corporation (REC), Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN), Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) Rs two crore, Tehri Hydro Development Corporation (THDC) Rs one crore and North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPC) Rs one crore.
