National conference on IFRS on Sep 5
New Delhi, Sep 3 (UNI) A two-day national conference on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is being organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) here from Friday on challenges in adoption of IFRS.
The event, spread over eight technical sessions, will be addressed by experts in the field of IFRS. It will focus on first time adoption of IFRS and issues related to change over to the new system, besides other facets of accounting standards.
ICAI has begun organising workshops, the first being held at Baroda, Gujarat, on August 29-30, to give an overview of application of IFRS in the Indian scenario.
Considering that many challenges are faced during the first time implementation, a special session was dedicated to sharing implementation experiences by various consultants and users, both large and small.
