Jaywant of Tamil Nadu wins 3 gold, 1 silver
Amritsar, Sep 3 (UNI) In the ongoing 35th Junior National Aquatic Championship being held at Guru Nanak Devji University here, Jaywant Vijayakumar of Tamil Nadu has become largest medal winner in the Group II swimming events by winning three gold medals and one silver medal.
In the Group II event of 100m freestyle swimming race, Jaywant clocked 57.66 seconds to win the Gold, beating Maharashtra's Saurav Sanghvekar to a Silver and Rishab Pawar of Delhi to a Bronze.
In the 50m freestyle of the same group, Jaywant clocked 26.36 seconds to win the Gold, defeating Assam and Delhi to Silver and Bronze medals.
Similarly in the 200m freestyle, Jaywant won his third gold medal by clocking 2.06.12, beating Maharashtra's Saurav Sangvekar to Silver and Karnataka's Prajjal KS to a bronze.
Jaywant today kept his winning spree by winning yet another silver medal for his home team of Tamil Nadu in the relay race of 4x100 freestyle.
