CRPF jawan killed and two ultras militants arrested
Srinagar, Sept 3: A constable of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sheikh Kamran from Mumbai, was killed, two civilians injured and two militants were arrested in the Kashmir valley overnight, official sources said on Wednesday, Sep 3.
Sources said militants fired upon a patrolling party of C-company of 182 batallion CRPF at Litter main bazar in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, resulting critical injuries to constable Sheikh Kamran. Militants also took away the service weapon of Sheikh.
He was immediately shifted to hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Two civilians Mushtaq Ahmad Mir and Imran Lone were also injured in the incident who are now admitted to a hospital.
Superintendent of Police (SP), Handwara, said two local trained militants of Al-badr and Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) were arrested from Wader and Mawar areas of Handwara.
The militants were identified as Shabir Ahmad Magray alias Umer Khitab of LeT and Tamim Ahmad a self-styled commander of Al-Badr for North Kashmir.
