Two undertrials injured in jail clash in punjab
Ferozpur, Sep 2 (UNI) Two undertrials, both brothers sustained injuries when they were attacked by a rival group in the Central Jail here today.
Jail Superintendent P S Saggu while confirming the incident said that Bhupinder Singh and his brother, Jagjit Singh were injured when a group of undertrials cornered them and threw bricks at them. They were rescued by the jail staff.
The two brothers who are facing trial in a case registered under section 307 of the IPC were admitted to the civil hospital here.
The alleged attackers, who had a verbal altercation with the two brothers, were identified as Happy Jhora, Harjinder, Rahdey Shyam Harjit and their associates.
Mr Saggu said that an inquiry had been ordered into the incident and accordingly a case would be registered.
