Two held in murder, benami sale of royal property

Mandi, Sep 2 (UNI) In a major breakthrough, police arrested two people, Sanjay Sharma and Subash Chand, in connection with the murder of a leading financier of the town and also for their involvement in the benami sale of royal property worth crores of rupees.

After a frantic search, Mandi Police succeeded in arresting both the accused from a Noida hotel yesterday.

Chander Shekhar, SP, told reporters that the police team headed by ASP Jai Pal Singh supervised the whole operation.

Both the arrested would be brought to Mandi and produced in court tomorrow, he said.

Police also arrested District Revenue Officer B C Negi in connection with the sale of the property. This is the second arrest in the last two days.

Earlier, Khub Ram was arrested by police who is said to be the major link in the whole deal.
