Student's anticipatory bail accepted

Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, Sep 2 (UNI) Chhattisgarh High Court has accepted the anticipatory bail application of a student, who was charged of securing third rank in the merit list of Board of Secondary Education's High School examinations through bungling.

Single bench Judge Dheerendra Mishra has accepted the anticipatory bail of Himani Tiwari, who was the resident of Semra village in Champa area and student of R K Higher Secondary School.

Court accepted bail on a condition that petitioner would present Rs 10,000 on bail and as many amount on surety on personal bond through his natural guardian. She was asked to cooperate the probe and not to leave the state without permission.

Petitioner's advocate Ashok Verma said that after the completion of the examination students had no control over the answersheet hence the allegation of bungling answersheets did not hold any water.

While prosecutor said that prima facie tampering and conspiracy with the answersheet was detected.

Himani gave the High School examinations in 2008.

In another case, Porabai, student of Higher Secondary School at Birra in Janjgir area and secured first rank in merit list of 12th class examination result this year. It was alleged her answersheets were written by experts. In this regard, that school's centre head and four other teachers were arrested and they were imprioned in the Bilaspur Central Jail.
