Six held for attempting to loot train
Satna, MP, Sep 2 (UNI) Six people have been arrested for attempting to loot passengers on the 2165 Kurla-Varanasi Ratnagiri Express between Jaitwada and Khurha stations, about 35 km from the district headquarters, last night, Government Railway Police said today.
When miscreants started looting passengers in S-7 coach of the train last night, security personnel surrounded the coach and arrested six people following an encounter while two others managed to escape.
Thirty-six gunshots were fired from both sides but no one was injured.
The culprits had been lodged in Manikpur police station.
Meanwhile, some people had made an attempt to loot the 8472 Utkal Express near Chhada station last night and succeeded in looting ear tops of a woman.
