SICCI to hold retail summit in TN
Chennai, Sep 2 (UNI) To promote organised retailing in India and help smaller players scale up as organised retailers, the Southern India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) will organise the first-ever Retail Summit in Tamil Nadu on September five and six.
"Emerging Retail Paradigm" will be inaugurated by Titan Industries Managing Director.
More than 250 delegates from across India would participate in the two-day summit, SICCI President M Balasubramanian told reporters last night.
The summit would cover important topics like Merchandising, Store Operations, Shopper Marketing and Insights and Building Store Brands (Private label).
The summit would enable the working managers across categories, retailers and students to understand about the retail business, educate them on the opportunities and ways to improve effectiveness and efficiencies across the value chain.
''In addition, the summit will also serve as an excellent platform for various stakeholders to highlight the progress and issues in the retail sector.
''Since the Retail Industry is at a very critical juncture, this is the right time to address its needs. From this year onwards, the Summit would be an annual affair for industry players to help promote organised retailing,'' he said.
He expressed the hope in the long run, the Summit would play the role of a catalyst in bringing about a paradigm shift in the retail sector.
