Poachers kill 2 peacocks in Aurangabad district
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Sep 2 (UNI) A gang of poachers have killed two peacocks at Vasai-Jalakai village in Sillod tehsil of the district.
According to sources, on August 31 some farmers of the village heard the sound of motor cycles entering the jungle and formed a human circle around them.
Before the villagers could realize anything, the gang of poachers killed some peacocks and taking advantage of the darkness tried to flee.
However, the alert farmers chased them and the poachers fled, leaving behind carcasses of two birds, three two-wheelers and a mobile phone.
When the forest department received the news, they visited the forest and took possession of the material left behind. They said that the poachers could be traced from the registration numbers of their two-wheelers.
