Health Minister appeals to K'taka on Hogenakkal
Bangalore, Sep 2 (UNI) Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss today appealed to the people of Karnataka not to politicise the Hogenakkal project.
Talking to newspersons here, he said the project was meant to supply safe drinking water and water would not be diverted for irrigation purpose.
Tamil Nadu would only utilise its own share of water from Cauvery for the project and not from the share of Karnataka, he added.
The project, which has been pending for the last 50 years, was aimed to provide drinking water to Dharamapuri, Krishnagiri and Erode districts where there was a high content of fluoride in ground water, he added.
