Four SIMI activists arrested in Jaipur blast case

Jaipur, Sep 2 (UNI) The Special Operation Group (SOG) has arrested four SIMI activists from Kota for their alleged involvement in the serial bomb blasts that rocked the capital city on May 13, official official sources said.

The SOG, yesterday, arrested the activists -- Munawar Hussain, having a tailoring shop in Kota, Atiq and Nadeem Akhtar from Kota, and Moammad Iliyas belonging to Baran District.

The four were arrested under the Illegal Activities (Prevention) Act.

The investigative agency was interrogating them for their possible role or involvement in the Jaipur serial blasts case, the sources added.

Meanwhile, SoG teams, which had gone to Lucknow to procure possible evidences from the Key suspect Shahbaz Hussain's residence and cyber cafe has returned Jaipur with some floppies and hardisk, Editional Director General of Police A K Jain said.

The investigators have also found that the e-mail sent to the Rajasthan Police and a TV channel on May 14, a day after the Jaipur serial blast in the name of Indian Mujhaheedin, was authored by Mulvi Abdul Bashir and Tauqir alias Subhan, Mr Jain said.

While Bashir is presently in the custody of Gujarat Police, Tauqir is still at a large.
