DD a ray of hope for Manipuri filmmakers
Imphal, Sep 2 (UNI) Programme Executive of Doordarshan Kendra Manibabu Likmabam today said Doordarshan (DD) provides ample opportunities to the Manipuri filmmakers and gives them a hope for the survival of Manipuri cinema.
Meghachandra Kongbam, Joint Director, Manipur Information Centre, said Likmabam will receive the 54th National Film Awards 2006 on behalf of the DD Kendra, Imphal, that financed the non-feature TV film, Guru Laimayum Thambalngoubi Devi.
The film, directed by Aribam Syam Sharma has been selected as the best biographical film in the 54th National Films Awards.
