Bangalore, Sep 2 (UNI) Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss today said the Centre was planning to legalise Homosexuality of as part its efforts to prevent the spread of AIDS in the country.
The Minister told newspersons here that AIDS spread mainly through sexual routes and the men having sex with Men (MSM) population was a matter of concern to the government in taking up programmes to fight against the disease.
An estimated 86 per cent of the affected people contracted the disease through sexual route, he added.
''If homosexuality is legalised, it will help do away with the social stigma associated with it and prompt them to come forward to take treatment,'' Mr Anbumani said.
