Cong leader Karunakaran shifted to Vellore MC
Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 1: Veteran Congress leader K Karunakaran, who had been undergoing treatment at the Sree Chithira Medical Centre here, was shifted to the Christian Medical College, Vellore, in Tamil Nadu for 'recuperative treatment and physiotherapy'.
He was flown in an ''air ambulance'' from here.
Mr Karunakaran was accompanied by his daughter Padmaja Venugopal and his family doctor Unnikrishnan.
At Vellore, he would be examined by a team of doctors who would decide the type of physiotherapy and treatment required by the leader.
Mr Karunakaran was admitted to a private hospital in the city a month back. After his condition caused some worries, he was shifted to the Sree Chithira Medical Centre.
A car in which Mr Karunakaran was travelling had met with an accident at Malappuram about a month ago. Though he did not suffer any external injury, it was found that he had suffered internal bleeding.
