NCF condemns Orissa violence, holds prayer for victims
Kohima, Sep 1 (UNI) Different churches in the state under the umbrella of Nagaland Christian Forum (NCF) condemned the killings and violence in Orissa.
In a release here today, the NCF stated that the Christians in Nagaland were saddened to hear about their Christian brothers in Orissa being tortured and rendered homeless.
Expressing solidarity with the suffering Christians in Orissa, the NCF said Christians in Nagaland would observe a day of prayer for the victims of the communal riots in Orissa on September 7.
The NCF has requested all the Churches in every part of Nagaland to observe next Sunday as the day of prayer and also requested Reverends, Clergy, Pastors, Associate Pastors and various Church Ministries to inform all Church members.
The NCF also urged that all Church bells be rung on September 7 at 0500 hours to mark the day of prayer and as a reminder of the significance of the day.
