M&M Aug sales up 5% to 19,211 units; Logan sales dip 35%

New Delhi, Sept 1 (UNI) Country's top utility vehicle and tractor maker Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) today said its sales in August has increased five per cent to 19,211 units from 18,269 units in the corresponding period last year.

Logan sales slipped 35 per cent to 1,464 units versus 2,252 units in August last year, a company statement said. M&M has a joint venture with France's Renault for manufacturing Logan sedan in the country.

Domestic sales have also increased five per cent to 18,321 units in August 2008 as compared to 17,438 units in the same month last year, it added.

Exports shot up seven per cent to 890 vehicles in August this year as against 831 units in the same period last year.

Tractor sales were up 16 per cent to 7,597 units in August 2008 from 6,572 units last year.

SUV sales was at 11,731 units as against 11,494 units (including Scorpio).
