Harcofed to organise women cooperators' conference on Sep 6

Chandigarh, Sep 1 (UNI) The Haryana State Cooperative Development Federation (Harcofed) is organising a state-level women cooperators' conference on "Economic Empowerment of Women Through Cooperatives" at Pehowa on September 6.

The conference aimed at creating awareness among the women cooperators about various welfare schemes being implemented by the cooperative department and cooperative institutions, besides eliciting the views of participants about various issues concerning women so that necessary measures could be taken to enhance the participation of women in cooperatives, said a spokesman of the Harcofed.

The committee members of various cooperative societies working in the state and women officers who are connected with the developmental and expansion programmes in the cooperatives would attend the conference.

Cooperation Minister Hamohinder Singh Chatha would be the chief guest at the inaugural session of this Conference, while Cooperative Societies Registrar Shiv Raman Gaur would preside over the conference.
