Panaji, Sep 1 (UNI) Goa government today announced Rs one crore towards the Prime Minister's Relief Fund. meant for the Bihar flood victims.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Chief Minister Digambar Kamat said the fund is in addition to a truck load of emergency medicines to be dispatched to Bihar, to assist the authorities in tackling the worst human tragedy.
He also urged the ministers, legislators and government servants to donate at least one-day salary to the cause of flood victims of Kosi in Bihar, that displaced thousands of people, who continued to be inaccessible even through helicopters.
These measures were in response to the call of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, he added.
