New Delhi, Sep 1 (UNI) All the congress members of Delhi Legislative Assembly will donate their one month's salary in a special fund set up by the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee to provide relief to those affected in the Bihar floods, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said today.
Addressing a joint press conference in the Capital along with DPCC president J P Agarwal, Ms Dikshit said,''we have decided that on behalf of the party state unit, we should send some relief material to the flood-affected in Bihar. Accordingly, party MLAs will donate their one month salary to the Pradesh Congress committee relief fund for the flood-hit.
Ms Dikshit said to ensure timely supply of relief material to those affected by the flood, the party had written to the Food corporation of India that it would pay the cost of the necessary relief material to the FCI here and in turn would supply the relief material directly to the affected areas.
Mr Agarwal said an office has been set up in the PCC office to recieve the required flood relief material. Anyone wanting to contribute by way of flood relief should submit the same to the PCC office.
Meanwhile, the the BJP MLAs have also decided to contribute their 15 day salaries for the people of Bihar.
