Senior BJP leader and state Minister for Forests, Environment, Wildlife and Excise M C Konyak, in a letter to BJP national president Rajnath Singh, said, ''We do not know the exact cause that trigerred the clashes. Religious intolerance between the Hindus and Christians is harmful and non-conclusive for our party.'' The Nagaland unit of the BJP also remarked that the media was ''pointing the finger of accusation at the national BJP.'' He said the BJP solicits the support and favour of all sections of the society irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
Mr Konyak, in his letter, sought 'clarification to dispel doubts about the party's ideology for the nation.'
