Atram files bail application before sessions court
Pune, Sep 1 (UNI) Former transport and tribal development Minister Dharmarao Atram, accused in the Chinkara Poaching case, filed a bail application before the Additional Sessions Court judge S B Patil here today.
The court has fixed September 4 for the hearing. Mr Atram, who was arrested on Saturday by Bhor forest officials, was remanded in 14-day judicial custody by a local court in Saswad. He was admitted to government-run Sassoon Hospital after complaning of chest pain.
According to hospital sources, most of his health parameters were normal. A few more tests will be performed on Monday, a doctor attending him said, adding he will be allowed to remain in the hospital only if he requires further medical attention.
More than a dozen policemen are guarding the ward, where he has been admitted.
