Dharamsala, Aug 31 : Scores of Tibetan exiles gathered at a monastery here today to pray for the speedy recovery of their spiritual leader, Dalai Lama.
The Tibetans lighted lamps and prayed for the health of their spiritual leader.
"We are here to pray for his holinesses' good health. He is in Mumbai in a hospital, and I think he is already discharged from the hospital. He is remaining there for another few days taking rest. After that he will come back to Dharamsala," said Dawa, a Tibetan exile.
The 73-year-old Dalai Lama was admitted to a hospital with "abdominal discomfort". He had cancelled two foreign trips after complaining of fatigue.
In recent years, doctors have increased medical checks to ensure that the Dalai Lama stays in good health.
The Nobel Peace Prize winner had returned to Dharamsala on August 24 after a two-week visit to France mainly to give lectures on Buddhism, but during which he also criticised Chinese policies in Tibet.
